Privacy Policy
This policy describes what personal information Moustiquaire Net Expert collects, why, and what you can require from us. It is written to be read — not scrolled past.
Who is responsible
Protection of personal information rests with the person holding the highest authority at Moustiquaire Net Expert. For any question, access request or complaint about your information: soumissionmoustiquaire@gmail.com, or 438-466-4094.
What we collect
We collect what you send us, and — only if you accept it — the audience measurements described below:
- Through the quote form: first name, last name, phone, email, city, organisation name where applicable, client type, nature of the work, number of screens and free-text message.
- By phone, text or email: the content of our exchanges, and any photos of your screens you choose to send.
- No account is created on this site, and no payment is processed on it.
Why we collect it
For one purpose only: answering your request — calling you back, preparing a quote, scheduling and carrying out the repair, then handling follow-up and invoicing. We do not use your contact details for advertising and we sell them to no one.
Audience measurement
Since September 3, 2026, the site includes an in-house audience measurement tool, hosted on our own servers. It only runs with your consent, given through the banner shown on your first visit. If you do not answer, or if you decline, it records nothing about you.
What it records when you accept:
- a random identifier, kept in your browser, that lets us recognise your successive visits — it contains neither your name nor your address;
- the pages viewed, the time spent on each, the type of device and browser, and the site you came from;
- your approximate city, derived from your IP address by the ip-api.com service, located in the United States: your IP address is sent to it for the duration of that lookup and is kept neither by them nor by us — only the city, region and country are stored;
- if you fill in the quote form: the fields you touched and their content, including when you do not send the request — this is what lets us see where a form gets stuck and fix it.
This data is kept for twelve months, then deleted. We use neither Google Analytics nor advertising pixels, and nothing is shared with any advertising platform.
You can withdraw your consent at any time, with the “Your choice” button at the bottom of this page or by clearing your browser’s site data: measurement stops immediately and the identifier is erased.
Regardless of your choice, the site counts the pages displayed — with no identifier, no cookie and no IP address. That count cannot identify anyone.
What is shared with third parties
Your information stays with us, with four precise exceptions:
- Our technical suppliers (website and email hosting), who process data on our behalf and may not use it otherwise.
- The map on the Contact page loads its background tiles from CARTO and OpenStreetMap servers: when the map displays, your IP address is transmitted to them, as with any image loaded from an external server. Nothing else is sent to them.
- If you accepted audience measurement, your IP address is sent to ip-api.com (United States) to derive your city, as described above. Nothing else is sent to it.
- If a service carried out by a partner company is offered (such as screen cleaning) and you request it, your contact details are only passed along with your explicit consent, given through a separate checkbox that names the third party and what it will receive. You may withdraw that consent at any time.
How long we keep it
Long enough to handle your request and honour the warranty on our work, then for the periods the law imposes — notably tax rules for invoices. A request that goes nowhere is deleted no later than two years after the last contact. Audience measurements are deleted after twelve months.
How we protect it
Access limited to the people handling your request, encrypted connections, and suppliers chosen for their security practices. In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious harm, we will notify you and the Commission d’accès à l’information, as the law requires.
Your rights
Quebec law gives you, upon simple written request:
- access to the information we hold about you;
- correction if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdrawal of your consent, including to audience measurement and to any transfer to a partner;
- delivery in a structured technological format (portability), where computerised;
- cessation of dissemination where applicable.
Write to soumissionmoustiquaire@gmail.com — we reply within 30 days. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no advertising cookies. Two things live in your browser’s local storage, and nowhere else: your answer to the audience measurement banner (so we do not ask again for a year), and, if you accepted, the measurement identifier described above. Both disappear when you withdraw your consent or clear your site data.
Updates
This policy may evolve with the site. The version in force is always the one published on this page. Last updated: September 3, 2026.
